KIN

Our history | Our future

ABOUT KIN

KIN is an initiative that was founded in 2017, aiming to bring black activists and organisers together from across the UK to collaborate, strategise and support each other.

In August 2018 we hosted a convening in Brixton, London where over thirty activists and organisers came together to explore the history of national and international social movements, to share organising practice and to contextualise what achieving collective liberation looks like within the UK. The KIN co-founders took some time in the midst of the chaos of 2020 to lie fallow, restrategise and strengthen our core, ready to recruit in 2021. This year, we are excited to introduce Gillian and Elena, our two new co-directors, ready to take KIN to the next level of organisational development.
